Chiefmaster DICKSON KUNZ - BIO
CM Kunz began consistent training of the asian martial arts in 1971 and after exploring several various styles, finally determined the one he would direct his main focus on by 1976, that being a vastly comprehensive yet little known system at the time, called Kuk-Sool. Officially joining the World Kuk Sool Association (WKSA®) in 1978, he reluctantly renounced his membership in 2009 after decades of dedicated service, for a variety of reasons but none concerning the techniques themselves nor how to teach the various skills involved in mastering this premier system of Traditional Korean Martial Arts.
Continuing non-stop with his study of Kuk-Sool, he now holds the rank of 9th degree Black Belt with more than 45 years of teaching experience. He is also one of 5 newly designated NKMAA Regional Directors appointed by GM Rudy Timmerman, specifically Director of Texas.
Renowned for numerous accomplishments, some worth mention are:
- Vice President of the International Jun Tong Mu Sool Kwan™
- International Demo Team Member
- Certified StickMaster™ Representative for the State of Texas
- Consummate Seminar Instructor (former appointment as WKSA® Touring Seminar Instructor)
- Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor (qualified to teach law enforcement)
- Ambassador and 2017 Inductee of the Korean Martial Arts Masters Hall Of Fame
- Featured in several Martial Art magazine articles (including one cover - TKDTimes issue #123, SEPT 2001)
Master Kunz is well-versed in both empty-hand and weapon forms, and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to joint-locks, pressure points, and Ki training, having been fortunate enough to study under some of the best Masters ever known to teach Kuk-Sool.
