It has been brought to the attention of the webmaster that much of the information presented on this page is basically a “screenshot” from the old website, when GM Timmerman personally handled the published content. However, despite the caveat writen by him that some info may not be current, we will strive to keep things as up to date as possible, so please feel free to use our contact form if anything below appears to be incorrect.
Important!
The rank listed for the NKMAA Masters below is what they registered with at the time of joining NKMAA, and they may have advanced to higher ranks afterwards. Some of these NKMAA Masters trained directly under GM Timmerman, and some NKMAA Masters received their rank THROUGH him (and tested at his school) when he was Director of WKSA. As such, they are listed here, despite the fact some left after GM Timmerman resigned from WKSA.
The fact that they tested through him and at his school, technically makes them NKMAA Masters, and no amount of the usual politics can change that... even if GM Timmerman would rather NOT have them listed as such. It is what it is, and any personal feelings at this point just have to be ignored. Does that mean one has to be happy with all the NKMAA Masters listed here? Absolutely not. Some NKMAA Masters have behaved badly, just because they were encouraged to dislike GM Timmerman because he left the WKSA association, and anyone can completely understand how that could happen. It should also be known that many of the NKMAA Masters listed here may have gone on to higher ranks under some other organizations. The ranks listed here are just that… ranks earned under or through GM Timmerman.
As time went by, some NKMAA Masters realized that they had been coerced to dislike GM Timmerman, and thankfully made amends at the event marking his 60th year of training in martial arts (held August of 2010). In fact, a number of them actually tested on that weekend, and the top image shown on the “NKMAA-Events” page was taken during the kicking segment of that test.
